Yamada Ryosuke (19) from popular group Hey!Say!JUMP will be having his solo CD debut. The song "Mystery Virgin" will be released on 9 January next year, and will be used as the theme song for NTV's special drama, "Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo - Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case", in which he will be starring in.
He debuted in April 2007 as a temporary unit "Hey!Say!7" with the single "Hey!Say!". Until now, he has released 16 singles as a member of both Hey!Say!JUMP and the trio NYC. He has also performed many solo songs during concerts.
This song will be a dance track with an exquisite melody, which will fit the thrilling advancement of the drama. As this popular drama will be a special memorial drama to celebrate NTV's 60th anniversary and this role has been played by his seniors in Johnny's, Doumoto Tsuyoshi, Matsumoto Jun, and Kamenashi Kazuya, Yamada commented that "It feels like a dream to be able to sing the theme song of this memorable programme alone. As Yamada Ryosuke of JUMP, [he] will continue to improve himself."
This song will first be performed on NTV's Best Artist, which will be aired live at 7pm JST on 28 November 2012.
I'm happy for his solo debut. I'm sure he has always wanted a solo debut. I mean, I guess most of us would have seen this coming someday, considering his popularity in JUMP.
But then again, I can't help but think of all the past examples we have seen in Johnny's regarding solo debuts of the most popular member in the group. I can only hope that he remains close to JUMP and not stray too far away. I love JUMP as JUMP.
